FROTH

Friends of the Theatre

Proposed FROTH Bylaws 2009

Our mission is to serve and support the University Theatre.

Founded in 1980, Friends of the Theatre (FROTH) serves as a support organization for the University Theatre and its programs, providing members with opportunities to connect with and offer support for student actors, directors, and designers, plus faculty and guest artists. Friends of the Theatre plans and hosts receptions prior to "Main Stage" productions, and in addition to enjoying exceptional performances together, members work to encourage broader awareness and appreciation of the KU theatre program throughout the community.

Fundraising by Friends of the Theatre is planned for the benefit of KU theatre students and staff. A $1,000 scholarship is awarded each year to an outstanding theatre student, and FROTH also provides enrichment funds for students and staff members. In September 2009, FROTH is presenting a new edition of Pastiche, a delightfully entertaining variety show followed by a gala reception, to raise funds the Jack B. Wright Student Ticket Endowment Fund. The fund serves as an endowment to support the operations of the University Theatre. The majority of the annual allocations from the fund will be used to provide free tickets to University Theatre productions for students at the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University.
