Stage Too!, Crafton-Preyer Theatre

Picking up where the classic stories end, Sherlock’s Last Case confronts the great detective with a unique challenge: solving his own murder! A letter arrives at Baker Street containing a death threat from Simeon, the supposed son of the late Professor Moriarty, who seeks revenge for his father’s death. This is followed by the arrival of an attractive young woman claiming to be Simeon’s sister, Liza. Does she really want to help Holmes capture her brother, or is she leading him into a trap? Once an attack is made on Dr. Watson, it becomes clear that “the game is afoot!” This modern take on the master sleuth is filled with suspense, betrayal, thrills, and witty humor, straight through to its startling conclusion.

The newlywed proprietors of Monkswell Manor welcome to their home a cast of characters: a hyperactive and troubled young man, a retired judge who is critical of all she sees, a masculine young woman who speaks off-handedly about the horrors of her childhood, a stoic army retiree, and a stranger in disguise who claims his car has overturned in a snow drift. Isolated by the snow, the group is startled by the arrival of Detective Sergeant Trotter who reveals that he is hunting for a killer amongst them. When one of the guests is promptly murdered, accusations are made and secrets revealed, but will the killer be found before it’s too late?
